At this point, smoothies are the worst-kept beauty secret on the planet. Everyone from your hot yoga instructor to Victoria’s Secret Angels rely on smoothie recipes for bodies that look and feel amazing. For us normal folks, smoothies are a delicious way to consume energy-boosting, beautifying fruits and veggies on the go.

These 10 smoothie recipes are full of the nutrients to keep your skin glowing. Even better, all those vitamins and antioxidants fuel your body against all of the nightmares spring brings; think air conditioning, rain, allergies, and the first sunburn of the year. So, dust off your blender, hit the farmer’s market, and give one of these surprising smoothie recipes a try.

Yes, you read that right. Avocado in smoothies is totally a thing, and makes them rich and creamy without adding skin-wrecking dairy. Avocados are also rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which plump skin and help prevent aging.

Blueberries pack a bigger antioxidant punch than almost any other fruit. Antioxidants give your skin superpowers against free radicals and nasty things like city pollution. This recipe is all about the blue, but you can toss a handful into any smoothie for a skin and immunity boost.

Cranberry Green Tea Smoothie (3)

They’re not just for Thanksgiving! Cranberries are a rich source of Vitamin C, which aids in the production of collagen. Collagen helps your skin repair itself from the inside out.

You already know that greens like kale and spinach are great for your bod. Spinach also has lutein, a carotenoid that helps protect the skin from UV damage (crucial for the summer). It’s also packed with Vitamin C, K, and E—basics in maintaining a strong immune system.

Forget lattes and pumpkin pie—the beauty of this smoothie is that you can have dessert for breakfast, but still feel awesome about it. Pumpkin gets its orange color from beta carotene, which has two skin-saving properties: protecting your skin from UV damage and acne-fighting vitamin A.

Don’t fear the beets. Beets give your smoothies an aesthetically-pleasing hot pink color and lots of vitamins. Athletes love beets for their anti-inflammatory properties, Vitamin B and C, manganese, and zinc—all great nutrients for your skin! Pump up the vitamin C and antioxidants with blueberries and strawberries for some sweetness.

Green Tea Smoothie:

Change up your morning routine by skipping skin-dehydrating coffee for an antioxidant-rich green tea smoothie. This one mellows out the green tea and spinach with sweet green grapes (bonus antioxidants!) and creamy frozen bananas.

If a green-colored smoothie is off-putting, this carrot ginger smoothie is a great, and just as healthy alternative. This recipe by Minimalist baker has a spicy-sweet punch, loaded with good-for-skin ingredients. Carrots are saturated with vitamin A, antioxidants, and beta carotene to help skin fight free radicals. Beta carotene gives your skin a natural golden glow to kick up that summer tan. Lemon, ginger, and turmeric fight inflammation and fight off those spring colds.

Consider this recipe permission to have a chocolate milkshake for breakfast. Cacao is rich in, what a surprise, antioxidants, and the almond milk’s vitamin E keep skin healthy and smooth. Plus, maca is a superfood with a nutty flavor that gives you caffeine, antioxidants, amino acids, zinc, and B vitamins. Did we mention it’s a superfood?

So thats that—all of the delicious, antioxidant-full, and skin-glowing smoothies that’ll last you through the summer and beyond.
