It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned yogi, a weekend warrior, or a complete beginner, traveling yoga-style is an amazing way to explore new places and meet like-minded people. Visit beaches, mountains, and forests while seeing the world in a new light.

Try yoga in many different ways, with different people in different places to really understand the depths of this incredible lifestyle. Live, taste and feel these new experiences to live your life to the fullest.

 

  1. Nosara, Costa Rica

There is an excellent and widely varied choice of yoga-inspired experiences and classes across Costa Rica. The general way of life in Costa Rica is very pura vida, so it’s no surprise that so many people come here to purify their bodies.

There are many mountainous and coastal destinations across the country that are perfect for a yoga motivated holiday, but the beach town of Nosara is health-crazy and particularly alluring to yogi travelers.

If you do visit, you must try your hand at aerial yoga, where you are holding your positions in a suspended hammock.

 

  1. Emerald Coast, Nicaragua

Find harmony within nature whilst deepening your yogic experience. In Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast, you will find yourself surrounded by stunning beaches and exotic jungle making it impossible not to feel at one with yourself.  Many people travel to boutique resorts like Maderas Village in order to meet like minded people and fine tune their yoga practice. The beaches are very quiet and private, perfect for early morning yoga sessions, meditation and breathing exercises.

India is a place where yogis will certainly feel at home. The state of Uttarakhand is slightly special, however, being a region where yoga fans have come for many years to practice and celebrate this unique way of life. Set on the banks of the Ganges and the foothills of the Himalayas, there are a number of centers and schools where you can really work on your yoga practice. Methods, techniques, and controls are broken down, analyzed and improved in the many daily yoga sessions. You can also enjoy the scenery, go on hikes or indulge at the spa, but if you want to spend your time here it is certainly a great destination to find yourself.

There are many yoga courses and classes across the island, as it slowly becomes a hugely popular destination not only for holidaying, but for those with yoga wanderlust. Connect with the yoga community or retreat and relax in your own zone.  When all else fails just take a nap on the beach.

The Bahamas is a very simple option as far travel goes. Many cruises and travel agencies feature specials to get you to the Bahamas and many resorts and ashrams offer packages to make your stay as simple and easy going as possible.

If you are looking for something a little different from the beach, Marrakesh is an authentic yoga destination. There are many retreats and schools offering classes to all levels, plus you can explore the city, shop at the renowned souqs or go on a traditional mule trek through the Atlas Mountains.

 

  1. Tulum, Mexico

This hip town is a very inspiring location both for travelers and yogis alike. There are many stylish eco resorts to stay at that run weekly retreats and a variety of invigorating sessions and workshops each day. In your free time you can explore the beaches or discover the nearby ancient Mayan ruins.
